Dr. James Richard Lucas, MD was born March 24, 1941 in Tulsa to Jack and Ruby (Battenfield) Lucas.  He passed away July 6, 2026 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 85. Jim was a graduate of Sand Springs High School and OU Medical School. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the Public Health Service, which at the time was a branch of the Coast Guard.
