Dear Lynda,Brandon, and Amy: I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was one of John's oldest and best friends. They were especially close in their Army years - John mentioned him many times in his letters - Bill was a great comfort to John. They had so much in common, having grown up on cattle ranches, cowboying, and around stockyards. Bill was a very strong person and John looked up to him. Coming to visit you all at your home in Oklahoma was a great treat, which we have fondly remembered. Lynda, please know that I am there for you and you are in my prayers. Call me anytime.

I first met Bill at Academy years ago. We hit it off right away. We had a lot in common and talked about going fishing together, but unfortunately never did. He was always upbeat and was quit the story teller. He could back up everything he told ( unlike the rest of us). He was somewhat like Will Rogers with a little twist. He never met anyone that didn't like him! I was fortunate enough to to see and visit Bill probably the last day he worked at Academy. He was very upbeat and talked about getting better. I just found out today when I went to Academy that he passed. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. I know he is a better place telling stories and making everyone laugh. What a great guy. Bill, I will miss you my friend.....

Lynda, Brandon, and Amy, I'm so sorry for your loss. I spent many hours and days on the water with him fishing and swapping stories. I saw him catch so many big bass you can't count them. I can still hear him hollering at me to get the net. One thing for sure is he loved his family and life. He was a great man and friend and will truly be missed

What an incredible man! Bill had a zest for life and such a great spirit that inspired me. I am so thankful to have known him my entire life and to have grown up close to him. We shared many amazing family memories. Bill also shared many stories with me about his life and I am so grateful to have heard them. I have always been proud to call you my Uncle Bill. You have been loved by so many & my condolences to Lynda, Brandon, Amy, Chris, Gino and those sweet grandsons.

We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Bill left a lasting impression on me, Jerrym Josh and our entire family. I remember him teaching me how to play snooker at the house. Sending me out to the garden to pick okra - he laughed as I cried. He was a wonderful man. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with Lynda, Brandon, Amy and the entire family during this difficult time.
