Willa June Kalka was born June 7, 1933 in Piedmont, Oklahoma to Jim and Ethel (Majors) Welch. She passed away in her home March 16, 2018 in Chandler at the age of 84.
Willa attended Chandler High School. She later married Bob Kalka July 6, 1956 in the Tryon First Baptist Church and shared the next 60 years together. They lived on their farm in rural Chandler where she worked along with Bob and raised four children. Early in their marriage she worked at the soil lab in the Lincoln County Court House. She was a long time member of the Davenport First Baptist Church.
Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ethel; husband, Bob Kalka; siblings, Roland Welch, Jay Welch, Bobby Welch, Dorthy Welch, Imogene Franklin, infants, Earl Welch, and Edgar Welch. Survivors include her children, Pamela June Humphries and her husband Richard of South Carolina, Judy Kay Smith and her husband David of Prague, Bobby Albert Kalka of Chandler, Jimmy Allen Kalka and his wife Shana of Davenport; (9) grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Steven Smith, Kendra Humphries, Sierra Kalka, Makayla Kalka, Jimmie Gail Kalka, Jeb Kalka, Morgan Yarborough, Cade Grant; (8) great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Phipps; along with many other family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Davenport with interment following in the New Zion Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
