Obituary
Wanda Dixie Hayes was born April 3, 1937 southwest of Wellston, to Charles and Rosa (Bell) Sullivan. She passed away August 1, 2023 in Chandler at the age of 86.
Wanda married Lowell Don Hayes in December of 1956 and they raised two sons together. She owned and operated an in-home day care for over 40 years starting in 1968.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rosa Sullivan; husband of 43 years, Lowell Don Hayes; sisters, Virgie Brown, Lois Helm, Linda Galloway; brothers, Floyd Sullivan, Johnie Sullivan, and Delbert Sullivan. Survivors include her sons, Lowell Don Hayes, Jr, David Wayne Hayes both of Chandler; many nieces, nephews and the hundreds of children that she cared for over the years. The children she cared for loved her and called her “Momma Wanda.”
There will be a private interment at the Luther Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
