Sue Arterbery Obituary

Liona Sue (Miller) Arterbery was born November 5, 1935 in Chandler to Doyle and Lucy Miller.  She passed away February 5, 2021 in Shawnee at the age of 85.

Sue grew up in Chandler where she graduated from high school with the class of 1953.  She married Don Arterbery August 8, 1953 and supported his military career as a military wife.  They traveled the United States and abroad while raising their children together.

Sue was a Mom and Grammy to everyone.  She was down to earth and naturally funny.  She enjoyed cooking, oil painting, and sewing many of her children’s clothing as well as their dolls.  Sue loved spending time with her family and friends often enjoying a spirited game of dominos or cards while laughing into the night.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Lucy Miller; husband of 53 years, Don Arterbery; daughter, Connie Boggs; and brother, Doyle Miller.  Survivors include her sister, Delores Petersen of Texas; daughters, Debbie Schmidt of Chandler, Glenda Key and husband Richard of Texas, Linda Sutter and husband Marty of Nevada; (8) grandchildren, Christina, Bryant, Nallon, Ray, Donald, Heather, Stevie, Kasi; (7) great-grandchildren, (2) great-great-grandchildren; along with other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Davenport Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
