Sharon Faye (Massey) McClendon of Stroud was born March 5, 1944 in Shawnee to Albert Isaac and Dorthy Modena (Bias) Massey. She departed this life June 18, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 76
Sharon started her life in Shawnee then her family moved to Chandler before moving to Stroud in 1958 where Sharon attended her high school years. During her senior year Sharon married Daniel Stephens White on November 10, 1961. They made their home in Stroud. She enjoyed being a homemaker while she also worked at the garment factory in Chandler.
Sharon married LeRoy (Tobe) McClendon in the late 1980’s. They owned a trucking company and team drove throughout the United States. She enjoyed camping and fishing with the family.
Sharon was preceded in death by both of her husbands; parents; and sister, Wanda Martin. Survivors include Aubrey Bounds of the home; sisters, Lucille Manning of Stroud, Almadene Herd of Chandler; brother, James Massey of Stroud; daughters, Janette Cornett and Benny Melson of Stroud, Danette and her husband Robert Carroll of Davenport; son, Daron and Tonya White of Calumet; grandchildren, David C. and Courtney Cornett of Stroud, Ryan Carroll and Alexis Newell of Morris, Illinois, Cody and Annie White of Okarche, Daron II and Hannah White of Calumet; 10 great- grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the Stroud Cemetery with Reverend Mike Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
