Russell Grimes Obituary

Russell Lee Grimes was born August 24, 1937 in Choctaw to Jesse and Marie Grimes. He passed away November 6, 2018 in Shawnee at the age of 81.

Russell was a great family man who enjoyed fishing, camping and everything outdoors. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Max Grimes, Carl Grimes, Helen Grimes, Robert Grimes, Norman Grimes, Susie Grimes, and Jesse Grimes, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Yvonne (Wickerd) Grimes of the home; children, Dale Woods and wife Anna of Choctaw, Yvonnie Jo Cranbell and husband Lee of Tahlequah, Russell Grimes, Jr. of Sparks, Matthew Grimes and wife Dorothy of Sparks; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren along with many other family and friends.

It was Russell’s request not to have any type of funeral service upon his death. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
