Roy Oliver McCaslin was born September 28, 1940, in McPherson, Kansas to Perry and Velma Mae (Armer) McCaslin. He passed away January 13, 2025, in his home in Wellston at the age of eighty-four.
Roy worked as a diesel mechanic for Trans Con Truck Lines. While working there, in 1977, he opened McCaslin’s Filling Station West of Wellston. He ran the station for more than 30 years enjoying all the people he met and helped along the way.
Roy met with his friends every morning for coffee and a good chat. He also liked to meet with friends at the local casino. Roy’s favorite pastime was talking to people and helping them.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Velma Mae McCaslin; wife of 27 years, Vina (Pruitt) McCaslin; son, Roy Glenn McCaslin; and siblings, George McCaslin, Gene McCaslin, and Kathrine (McCaslin) Baker. Survivors include his children, Ronda Tallent and her husband Carrell of Tulsa, Darrin McCaslin and his wife Kim of Antlers, Cheryl Sills and her husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City; sister, Carlanna Kirkpatrick; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Carney Cemetery later. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
