Long-time Chandler resident, Nadene Mathews, passed away February 6, 2023, at 91 years of age.  Despite a tough life, she kept her smile and sense of humor, and was feisty till the end.  Nadene was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her husband.  She is survived by her beloved brother, Jim Chisum, with whom she reconnected in 2017 after 71 years apart, his wife Marsha, a niece and three nephews, their children and grandchildren, and her little dog, Lady.

The family is deeply appreciative of the care Nadene received from her neighbor, Tammie Blevins.  Dr. Richards and staff kept her feisty, Tana Smith at IBC Bank looked after her financially, and the Boom-a-rang Diner crew kept her fed.  We appreciate the staff and customers at Hite Drug, her potato salad supplier, and numerous others who watched over her.  We especially thank nurses Jesse and April of Interim Health Hospice, and the staff at Chandler Living and Therapy Center for the care and compassion shown to Nadene in her last days.  She will be missed.

A time for friends to come together and celebrate Nadene's life was held at the Boomerang Diner in Chandler.  Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
