Mary Elizabeth (Falke) Looney

Mary Elizabeth (Falke) Looney was born December 1, 1924 in Jetmore, KS to Gustave and Barbara (Roedl) Falke.  She went to be with her Lord on November 18, 2023 at her home in Wellston at the age of 98.

Mary met and later married Early B. Looney on April 5, 1945.  They made their first home in Oklahoma City where they raised their four children.  Mary retired from her work as a librarian at Central High School in OKC after many years.  They moved to Wellston in 1972 to continue their farming adventures and continued to make many memories with family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 63 years; daughter, Joyce Fogle, son, Dale Looney; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 2 great-grandsons.  Survivors include her 2 daughters, Virginia Kay Gavel, Peggy Harris and husband Danny; son-in-law, Tom Fogle; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Wellston Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
