Marvin "Bud" Carter

Marvin “Bud” Thomas Carter, 56, of Wellston was born December 25, 1965 in Lawton to Marvin and Sherry Carter.  He went to heaven on February 27, 2022.  Marvin was known as Bud where he worked for over 20 years as Director of Civil for Aerial Tower.  Bud was well known in the tower business for his work ethics taking pride in his work making things perfect.

Bud enjoyed many things including hunting, fishing, and jug-lining where he was the captain of the pirate boat.  He loved teaching and showing others about the outdoors.  His favorite thing was having all his kids and grandbabies over and cooking out as he loved to grill.  He loved spending time with his family most of all.

Bud was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Corrine Eddings, Albert and Cora Carter; and his in-laws, Bill and Barbara McCoy.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 26 years, Bonnie (McCoy) Carter of the home; children, Christopher Carter of Midwest City, Dustin Story of Meridian, Brittany and husband Nathan King of Shawnee, Amy Carter and partner J.D. Eyestone of Wellston, Zachary and wife Emilee Carter of Wellston, Dylan Carter and fiancé Kenzie Kulp of Wellston; (13) grandchildren, Emanuel, Kelsey, Landon, Gavin Carter, Shantai, Serenity, Sawyer, Sterling Story, Esther, Malachi King, Easton, Kade Carter, Kyler King; parents, Marvin and Sherry Carter of Newalla; sisters, Marcia Stewart of Tecumseh, Sharon Fry of Arizona; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.  He will be greatly missed by many.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday March 4, 2022 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston with Brother Lane Buckley officiating and interment following in the Carney Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
