It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margery Ann Dutton, a remarkable woman who graced this world on September 2,1940 in the warm embrace of Michigan City, Michigan. She  peacefully departed from us on June 24, 2026, as she drifted into eternal rest in her sleep at the age of 85, at the Meeker Nursing Center. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Born to Thelma and Raymond White, Margery grew up with a profound sense of family and community. Margery attended Edwardsburg Michigan High School where she laid the foundation for a life full of learning and growth.

Margery’s professional journey was marked by her steadfast dedication and passion. She spent many cherished years working at Notre Dame, a place she held dear to her heart. Her career also included valuable contributions to the Lincoln County News and Tinker Air Force Base. In every role, Margery exemplified commitment and excellence, leave a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike.

A true patriot, Margery was deeply involved with the VFW Post auxiliary for many, many years. Her service and commitment to veterans reflected her love for her country and her generous spirit.  Her dedication to the “POST” was unwavering, and she found joy and purpose in supporting those who served.

Outside of her professional and volunteer endeavors, Margery was an ardent fan of Notre Dame football, a passion that brought her immense joy and camaraderie. Whether cheering from the stands or watching from home, her enthusiasm was infectious.

Margery was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry, cherished daughter Brenda, three stepsons, sister Sandra Lee; and many dear friends. Despite these profound losses she continued to find strength and solace in the love of her surviving family members. She leaves behind her devoted children, Bonnie Huguely and Bruce Dutton, along with a legacy of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her spirit of kindness, resilience and sarcasm.

Margery’s life was a testament to the power of love, community, and unwavering faith. Her kindness, warmth, and patriotism will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may have left this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

As we say goodbye to Margery Ann Dutton, we celebrate a life well lived, a life that made this world a better place. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Memorial contributions can be made in Margery’s honor to the VFW Post Auxiliary in her memory, ensuring that Margery’s legacy of service and love continues to shine brightly.

A private service was held in her honor. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
