Mack Lauren “Mike” Braziel III, 79, of Wellston, Oklahoma, passed peacefully at his home on September 20, 2025.

He was born on July 12, 1946, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Mack Lauren Braziel Jr. and Viola Mae (Tunnell) Braziel. Growing up in Perkins, Oklahoma he was known by his classmates as “Mike.” He was captain of the football team and voted, “Best Personality" all four years of high school.

Mack worked as a trailer mechanic for TransCon Trucklines and later finished his career with Wellston Public Schools, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Mack.” He was beloved by the students, always carrying spare change so he could treat them to ice cream. In his free time, Mack enjoyed days at the lake with his family and hunting for treasures at estate auctions and flea markets.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eddy Darrel Braziel. He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna K. (Arthur) Braziel; brother Jerry and his wife Margaret Braziel; son, Mack Lauren Braziel IV and his wife Donna (Peterson) Braziel; daughter, Lisa K. (Braziel) Danker and her husband Dwayne Danker. He was a proud grandfather to Heath, Hali, Hope, and Hayden Braziel; Whitney Danker Thurmond and her husband Cain; Micaela Danker Halverson and her husband Sam; Ryan Danker and his wife Megan; and Brynn Danker and her fiancé Mathew Terry. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Porter and Arthur Thurmond, Kennedy Halverson, and Ellis Danker.

Above all, he cherished his family and leaves behind a great legacy. Mack will be remembered as a vivid storyteller, a lover of animals, and a thoughtful gift giver.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Wellston Christian Church with interment following in the New Zion Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
