Linda Cheryl Turner Obituary

Linda Cheryl (Lay) Turner was born November 29, 1948, in Hemet, California to Earnest and Marion Lay.  She was the oldest of eight siblings.  She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in February 1968.  Linda married Wiki Wright on March 1, 1968, and raised two children together, Sanae and James.

Linda and her family moved to Arizona in 1978 and operated a wicker furniture manufacturing plant for over a decade.  In 1991, she and her family moved back to Sparks, Oklahoma.  Here she became part of the Chandler Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.  She married Dave Turner on April 4, 2009.

The most important things to Linda were serving her God Jehovah, being in the ministry, and spending time with her family and spiritual brothers and sisters.  Linda really appreciated Jehovah’s creations, and she could spend hours enjoying nature.  She especially loved to spend time with her grandkids, Makenzie and Riley.  She really loved Makenzie’s cookies, Garrett’s barbecue, and Riley’s art!  She was the proudest grandma ever!  She was Grandma Ninna to all the kids, but the other loves of her life were ice cream and getting Starbucks with her besties!

Linda fell asleep in death peacefully in her home on June 2, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Marion Lay; husbands Wiki Wright, Dave Turner; and her siblings, Gary, Janet, Dale, and Stacy.  Survivors include her daughter, Sanae; son, James and his wife, Stacy; granddaughter, Makenzie; grandson,-in-law, Garrett; grandson, Riley; siblings, Leslie, Karen, and Eddie; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and her extremely large spiritual family of over 9 million brothers and sisters worldwide.

We are comforted that she is safe in Jehovah’s perfect memory, and we look forward to welcoming her back in the resurrection here on Earth!

1 Peter 5:10 “He will make you firm, he will make you strong, he will firmly ground you.”

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. June 14, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Chandler.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
