Linda Dianne (Huffman) Brooks, of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of eighty. She was born December 20, 1944, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Rex and Katherine (Durbin) Huffman.

Linda’s life was full of happiness; she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working on puzzles, loved planting flowers, tending to her plants, and watching things grow, having cookouts with her family, being a volunteer, and attending church. Linda would enjoy her quiet times sitting on the porch watching the birds, and in the evenings to feed the deer that made her back yard home as she would watch them play. She enjoyed the company of Sugar, her beloved dog and friend, on walks outside. Loved to be around her children and grandchildren; always making sure all the kids had plenty of toys to play with.

She met the love of her life, Billy Brooks, in 1959 in La Cresta, California. They dated for three years as she stood by his side during his service in the US Army. They married on March 17, 1962, at Winterhaven Chapel in California. They made a life together for 62 years at the time of Billy’s passing, two months ago in November of 2024.

We will remember Linda’s smile and her telling funny stories about Billy, her husband. She was kind to everyone and always put others ahead of herself. We will all carry the love she had for each of us.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Yvonne Jones. She leaves behind her children Billy Jr and wife Shanti Brooks, Michelle James and husband Dale, Eddie Brooks, and Rhonda King; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Linda was never alone during her last weeks with us on earth. She was surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly. We knew she could feel our love and presence, and we know she is at peace with her husband and God now. We love you and you will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston, Oklahoma.
