Jon Joyner Obituary

Jon Joyner Obituary

Jon Eldon Joyner, lovingly known as JJ, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on June 13, 1947, in Lawton, Oklahoma, and most recently resided in Wellston, Oklahoma.

Jon had a zest for life and a passion for the simple pleasures it offered. His favorite hobbies included fishing & hunting with daughter Kasie, watching OSU sports and a good game of golf.  He found joy in being out in nature, casting a line into the water or teeing off on the golf course. Jon's love for music centered around oldies and artists such as Conway Twitty, Marty Robbin’s, Johnny Cash, and George Jones.

Known for his quick wit and ability to deliver one-liners, Jon had a talent for making anyone laugh. He possessed a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand, even giving someone the shirt off his back if they were in need. His love language was gift giving. Jon was the life of the party, effortlessly bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

In addition to his hobbies, Jon was an accomplished salesman who won several top salesman awards. However, his proudest accomplishments lay in being an outdoorsman and his golfing abilities. He could out fish anyone and drive a golf ball farther than anyone else on the course.

Jon was married to his beloved wife, Kelli Joyner, for 42 years. Together, they created a beautiful life, and had one daughter, Kasie Harriet. He also has one son, Jeff Lawson, from a previous marriage. Jon's pride and joy were his four grandsons, Ryan Lawson, Kaden Lawson, Shepherd Harriet, and Malakai Harriet.

He is survived by his siblings, Sharon Hiestand and Doug Joyner, as well as several other family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with Jon.

Funny as hell, kind, giving, and never meeting a stranger, Jon impacted the lives of those around him by bringing laughter and making them feel important. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his infectious humor and generous spirit.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 29, 2024 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
