John McLin Obituary
John Wayne McLin was born October 26, 1951 in Westwood, California and later adopted by Marvin and Viola McLin. He passed away January 29, 2024 in Edmond at the age of 72.
John attended school in Wellston where he graduated with the class of 1969. After graduation John proudly served in the Army. He could build a home from the ground up but was a tile setter by trade. John was meticulous carpenter and a perfectionist of his craft.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and coached his son’s little league basketball and t-ball teams. John would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. This became apparent recently when his family found his bank account consisted of many charitable donations to nearly every charity available. Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Viola McLin; and his sisters, Sue and Anita. Survivors include his children, Jeremiah McLin and wife Brandi, Jack McLin and wife Terry, Crystal Shaffer and husband Jason, Destany Lancaster, Danielle Fife, Brandon Inman, Ryan Coughran, Shawn Coughran; (12) grandchildren, Mariah, Kaylea, Gauge, Dakota, Braiden, Madison, Shyanne, Riley, Abbi, Dixie, Blake, and Kolby; (20) step-grandchildren; (1) great-grandchild, Kohen; siblings, Jack, Connie, Maggie, Wayne, Ricky, Deanna, Bobby along with his beloved dog, Bella.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
