John Henry Davis Jr. was born to the union of John Henry and Josephine Davis on November 23, 1948 in Gila Bend, Arizona. He passed away June 19, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 74.

He was the fifth child of six. As a young child John loved welding and playing pool.  As a young adult, he was drafted in the United States of Army where he served for several years. After getting out of the Army he got married to Diane, and they moved to California where they lived for many years. John and Diane eventually moved back to Oklahoma City. John was an easy-going person; he never met a person he couldn't strike of a conversation with and love to talk.  

Preceding him in death are his parents; John Henry and Josephine Davis, Ray Vone Young, Willie Gene Davis, Peggy Cudjo, Johnny Daniels. He left behind a host of family and friends who he leaves to cherish his memory, Ruth Ann Mixon of Chandler, Gladys Marie Johnson of Oklahoma City, Zina Mae Neal of Chandler, Naomi Daniels Oklahoma City, and several children, and host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other family. 

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Saint Paul Community Church of Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
