Jimmie Dean (McMenis) Caldwell was born April 4, 1941 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. She went to that mansion that Jesus had prepared for her September 3, 2021 at her home in Chandler.
Jimmie was a seamstress extraordinaire. She made her own wedding dress complete with all the lace and fancy own wedding dress complete with all the lace and fancy stuff that brides like to wear. She was only 19 at the time. She has made lots of clothes for lots of people and has been the go to person for expert alterations. Included in her sewing was the making of formals, prom dresses, bridal gowns, tuxedos, cheer leading uniforms and many other wonderful items.
Jimmie, along with her mother and sister were sought after vocalists in the church she attended in her younger years. Later she was an active vocalist in her local church. She was also always eager to reach out and help someone in need.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James Paul McMenis and Dena (Chambers) McMenis; sister, Rosemary (McMenis) Giger, and her brother James Paul McMenis, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.F. Caldwell; daughter, Dena Duke of Shawnee; son, Randy Caldwell of Chandler; sister, Paula Sue Henrickson of Florida; (3) grandchildren, (8) great-grandchildren; (5) great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 till 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Lehman Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Oak Park Cemetery with Reverend Keith Cole officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
