The family of Jerry Keith Whatley is deeply saddened to announce his passing on July 10th, 2026, at the age of 71, after his battle against cancer.  Born on December 28, 1954, in Eufaula, he was the beloved child of Jery J. and Lila Lillian Whatley.

Jerry grew up in Blocker, OK.  He graduated from Quinton High School in 1973.  After completing high school Jerry served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1979.

Jerry pursued a career of being an owner/operator as a heavy equipment mechanic and spent over 30 years working for Allen Contracting.  Jerry married Jennifer McCool on March 25th, 1994, and together they built a beautiful life filled with lake days, movie nights, and campfires.

Jerry always had a passion for working.  He could be found taking something apart or building things.  He never understood how to sit still and always was tinkering.  He loved to spend summers on the lake.  Jerry was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Jennifer Whatley of Wellston; two children, Makayla and Blake Redus of Stroud, Thomas Whatley and wife of Wellston; one

Grandchild; sister, Vickie Patrick of Wellston; six fur grandchildren, and very many friends and other loved ones.  He is predeceased in death by his parents, Jery J and Lila Lillian Whatley; uncle, John Westley Patrick; grandmother, Lillian Lila Patrick, his mother and father-in-law, Ola and Alvin McCool; along with other loved ones.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
