James H. Jackson passed away peacefully at home in Enid on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the age of 75.  He was born on November 28, 1950, to George W. and Florence R. (Schaub) Jackson in Oklahoma City.

James was married to Betty L. Jackson who was at his bedside when he passed along with his daughter-in-law, Becky Pemberton, and his hospice nurses Casey and Tara from Circle of Love Hospice in Enid.  James lived most of his life in Luther, Oklahoma.  He was a jack of all trades and could build anything.  He worked as a maintenance man for the Town of Luther and if anyone needed him to come and help them no matter what, he was there and fixed all their problems.  He worked at Remington Park as maintenance man and retired when he turned 65.

James was loved by everyone who knew him.  He leaves behind his wife Betty Jackson; son, Stewart Jackson; step-son, Jamie Mathis and wife Karreen; step-son, Brian Pemberton and wife Becky; step-daughter, Jennifer Bowden and husband Rodney; sister, June Ginn; brothers, Billy Jackson and wife Karen, John Jackson and wife Sheri; sisters, Gladys Davis and husband Barry Greenley, Shelia Edens; many other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren all of whom he loved.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Jackson; special Aunt Gladys Hill; brothers, Tom Horton, and Eddie Steffens.  James also had many friends that were more like family, the Habben's, Nettie Jean, David, Mitzi, Tessica and Del plus their spouses, special friend Bud Habben whom he looked up to and respected is waiting for his friend in Heaven, Tom Brown and family, and Richard Smith.  James will be missed greatly.
