Jacquelyn "Jacque" Vanderburg Obituary
Jacquelyn Sue (Jacque) Vanderburg, 76, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, went home on April 30,2025 surrounded by family.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and, aunt, Jacque will always be remembered for her sweetness, tenderness, kindness, love for others, and love for Jesus. Born on October 30, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Jacque grew up as the second child of George and Geneva Wood and sister to Jan and Reggie.
As a young girl, she was very service-minded, serving in churches her father pastored. She loved music and taught herself to play the piano by ear. Jacque was called to be a wife and homemaker. When required, she also worked outside of the home to help support her family financially. While address changes happened frequently, she successfully made every new location a home. Not only for her family but anyone who was in need. While doing so, she passed on the legacy to her children of what it means to be a true Christ follower living out Matthew 25.
On December 22, 1967, Jacque married the love of her life, Paul Vanderburg. The two shared a passionate romance that lasted 58 years. Standing the tests of time, trials, and tribulations, the foundation of their marriage was built on their faith in Christ. Their legacy includes two children, eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Jacque is survived by her husband, Paul, her children Robin and her husband Doug, and Brad and his wife Jana, as well as all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother and sister, nieces, and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jacque’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Meeker Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
