Harold Wayne “Hoot” Gibson was born December 1, 1934 in McCune, Kansas to Clarence E Gibson and Gladys May (Price) Clawson. He passed away November 3, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 85.
Hoot proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on an aircraft carrier. He was also a lifelong working cowboy who took great care of his farm and ranch. Hoot worked for a time for the Chapman-Barnard Ranch in Pawhuska. Together with his wife, Pat, he enjoyed raising and showing Appaloosa horses.
Hoot is preceded in death by his parents; survivors include his wife of 33 years, Patricia Gibson of the home; daughter Maria and her husband Scott Nelson of Goddard, Kansas; grandchildren, Miranda Nelson, Alyssa Nelson, Nina Nelson along with other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Assembly of God Church in Chandler with Reverend Kevin Martin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
