Glenn Ray Melson was born August 10, 1965 in Prague, Oklahoma to Mark E. and Carol (James) Melson. He passed away January 4, 2023 in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his family, following a 16-year battle with complications from a car accident in 2006. Glenn was 57.
Glenn graduated from Davenport High School with the class of 1983. He studied at Oklahoma State and Tulsa Universities and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler. He spent many years coaching little league baseball and softball in Davenport. On November 1, 1985 Glenn married Amy Nickell. They made their home in Chandler and had 3 children, Derik, Sierra and Braden.
Glenn worked for Black and Decker/Kwikset in Bristow for 18 years before going to work for Cameron International in Oklahoma City as a Senior Production Planner. His joy in life was his family, University of Oklahoma sports, coaching and fishing. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, compassion and desire to help others.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Mark Edward Melson. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Amy (Nickell) Melson of the home; son, Derik Melson and his wife Hannah of Chandler; daughter, Sierra and her husband Levi Lee of Prague; and son, Braden Melson of Norman; 5 grandchildren, Waylon Melson, Logan Melson, Katie Melson, Easton Lee, Avery Lee; mother, Carol Melson; sisters, Shelly Lyon and Keta Gibson, all of Chandler; and his brother, Brian Melson of Dallas, Texas.
A celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Lehman Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
