Gene Edward Webb was born to Charles Shelby Webb and Mary Charles Hill Webb on September 18th 1935. Siblings include brother Robert Earl Webb married to Carolyn Webb from Bristow and Sister Deborah Charlene Webb Allen married to David Allen from Bixby.
His children are son Larry Webb married to Lynn Webb Catoosa, son Gary Webb, daughter Kelly Webb from Missouri, son Charlie Webb Stienlage and Tim Stienlage from Cushing, daughter Angie Dingman Simon married to Luke Simon Stroud. He had 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and was very proud of each one of them. Gene is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Stephanie Webb Wright.
Gene attended Newby grade school and Bristow High School. He began working in the oilfield shortly after high school until his late 30’s.
Gene was passionate about trucking and able to enjoy a long career for 40 plus years. He received many safety awards for driving a million miles with no incidents. Gene and Ol’Henry, his Ford semi-truck, traveled over a million miles together. Gene married the love of his life, Joyce Raylene Young on June 16th 1989. Together they started their trucking company G & J Trucking in 1999 and later leased on to Acord Trucking. Gene attended the Nazarene Church of Davenport where he was known as “Smiley”.
Gene retired at the age of 75. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, his place on Lake Eufaula, and annual trips to Branson to see the shows.
