Gene Lamb

Garvin Eugene Lamb was born June 26, 1947 in Stillwater to Garvin and Lucille (Rowland) Lamb.  He passed away June 7, 2020 in Shawnee at the age of 72.

Gene grew up in Tryon and Guthrie where he graduated from high school in 1965.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later worked at Tinker AFB for 30 years until retirement in 1998.  Gene did a little farming and enjoyed fishing, car shows as he was a great car enthusiast, horse racing, taking his grandson to compete in team roping at the rodeo, watching car auctions on TV and spending time with friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Garvin and Lucille Lamb; and his nephew, Randy Hicks.  Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Debra (Hancock) Lamb of the home; son, Tyler Lamb and his wife Sheryl of Paden; (2) grandchildren, Mercedes and Dylan; sisters, Mary Hicks and her husband Tim of Luther, Lisa and her husband Randall Husband; niece, Robin Sumner and her husband David of Luther; nephews, Chad Husband, Jeremy Husband along with other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with military honors and interment following in the Iowa Chapel Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
