Esther Marie (Harris) Hopkins Obituary

Esther Marie Hopkins was born the second oldest of thirteen children to Floyd and Lillie Mae (Shepherd) Harris.  She passed away June 29, 2026, in Stroud at the age of 84.

Esther liked to be called Queen Esther, referencing the biblical Esther.  Her love-language was taking care of others.  She was a homemaker where her and her husband raised their daughter, Kim.  She will be remembered for her love of hummingbirds which she passed on to her great-grandson, Dawson.  Esther enjoyed cooking, baking pies and bread which she would share with those she loved.  She was a long-time member of the Stroud Christian Church where she sung in the choir and helped with funeral meals for many years.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lillie Mae Harris; in-laws, Maggie and Audrey Lee Hopkins; six brothers; three sisters; and two sisters-in-law.  She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Hopkins, of the home; daughter, Kim Butcher and husband Corey of Texas; two grandchildren, Emily Margaret Kefayati and husband Soorena, Nathan Lee Butcher; great-grandson, Dawson; siblings, Larry Harris and wife Linda, Allan Harris and wife Berta, Darrell Harris and wife Rebecca; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Stroud Christian Church with interment following in the Stroud Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
