Earl Seitsinger Obituary

Earl Wendell Seitsinger, 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on July 24, 2023. Earl was born on August 9, 1935, in Parkland, Oklahoma, to the late Lena Bell Stevens-Seitsinger-Slemp and Robert Walter Seitsinger.

Earl had a diverse career. His first job was as a laborer on the Turner Turnpike project. Later he roughnecked in Oklahoma, southern Colorado, and northern New Mexico. His roughnecking days came to an end due to a severe injury. Earl then found himself in Oklahoma City, where he "accidentally" became a commercial plumber. He plumbed numerous commercial buildings, public schools, and the 'new' Guthrie hospital, all in Central Oklahoma. He worked for various plumbing companies through the years, spending most of his career at Russell Plumbing Company, Oklahoma City.

Earl lived most of his life in Oklahoma City and Moore, where he raised his family, and his five boys went to school. He did his best to teach them the value of diligent work.

In his heart, Earl was always a country boy. He returned to Parkland on many weekends through-out the years to visit his mom and brothers.

Earl had a variety of hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and driving around Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. Late in life he enjoyed watching OU Girls Softball on YouTube and playing dominoes with friends.

Earl will be remembered for his pragmatic and hardworking nature. He was a strong disciplinarian but possessed a charming and fun-loving personality. He was loved by many nieces and nephews and was known for his ability to tell tall tales. Earl was also known for his love of arguing politics.

Earl is survived by his ex-wife, Cora Seitsinger, and his sons Stephen (and Becky), Mark, John, David (and Natisha), and Paul. He also leaves behind five granddaughters, Alexandra, Rachel, Laura, Anna, Ava and two grandsons, Luke and Ben, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his mother, Lena, his father, Robert, and his brothers, Robert 'Bob' Lee Seitsinger and Walter 'Buck' Seitsinger.

A graveside celebration of Earl's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, Oklahoma. Earl will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
