Darrell Roy Wakley

Darrell Roy Wakley was born July 9, 1948 in Chandler to Roy and Dorothy (Taylor) Wakley.  He passed away July 29, 2021 at his family’s farm north of Chandler at the age of 73.

Darrell grew up in Chandler where he attended Oak Grove later graduating from Chandler High School.  He spent most of his life near the centennial family farm in Chandler which was acquired in the land run.  He was always building or helping to build something for someone else.  Darrell enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and spending time on the lake with his grandchildren.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorothy Wakley; and his sister, JoAnn Crenshaw.  Survivors include his children, Daniel Wakley and his wife Joyce of Yale, Robert Wakley of Chandler, Brian Wakley and his wife Tammy of Newalla, Adrian Wakley of Chandler; (10) grandchildren, siblings, David Wakley and his wife Rhonda of Chandler, Mike Wakley and his wife Cindy of Chandler; brother-in-law, Mike Crenshaw of Agra; along with other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
