Clarence Wright

Clarence Weldon Wright, also know as Teeny, was born October 31, 1941 to Clarence and Birdie (Rue) Wright.  He passed away June 28, 2023 in Norman at the age of 81.

Weldon owned and operated restaurants as well as vending machines.  He later spent a few years as a car salesman until retirement.  He had a great love of music and played guitar.  One of his greatest joys was playing guitar at the annual Bluegrass Festival in Guthrie.

Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Birdie Wright; and his junior high school sweetheart and wife of 22 years, Ira (Willeford) Wright.  Survivors include his brother, Delton Wright of Duncan; daughters, Lisa McClain of Norman, Terri Mitchell of Lawton; (7) grandchildren, Austin Jackson, Maecey McClain, Peyton McClain, Koby McClain, Jeffrey Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Garrett Mitchell; (5) great-grandchildren; other family and friends.  Weldon’s family would like to thank Melissa Jackson for the loving care given to Weldon during his final months.

A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the White Bead Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
