Charles Ray Becker, one of eleven children, was born January 30, 1930 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to William and Russia (Alsip) Becker. He passed away May 27, 2020 in Shawnee at the age of 90.
Charlie served his country proudly in the United States Air Force as an engineer and tail gunner on the B-52 bomber. He enjoyed stock car racing, traveling mostly from Kansas through Texas as a sponsor and mechanic for Harold Leep’s car. He loved to visit with anyone who was willing at Wellston’s local Pioneer Camp, Bev’s and Turks. He loved his enormous family and had a nickname for most of them.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Russia Becker; siblings, Bill Becker, Frantz Becker, Walter Becker, Mary Duckett, Eugene Becker, Merle Becker, Lucille Becker, and Donal Becker. Survivors include his brother, Bud Becker and wife Carolyn of Wellston; sister, Nancy McClellan of Erick, OK; niece and long-time caregiver, Carol Mobley of Chandler; and many, many other family members who will miss hearing their nicknames; and a host of friends.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with military honors and interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
