Carolyn Sue (Beasler) Hancock was born October 1, 1948 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Louis and Bertha (Gilliam) Beasler. She passed away October 7, 2018 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
Carolyn grew up on a farm off of highway 177. She attended Happy Hills School and later Chandler where she graduated high school with the class of 1966. She moved to California for a short time. Upon her return to Oklahoma she married Dearl Ruth and together had a son, Shane. She later married John B. Hancock and shared 23 years together. Carolyn loved cats and dogs and had a heart of gold. She helped with Meals on Wheels and Feed the Children. She loved cooking for family gatherings and often time opened her home to those in need.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hancock; siblings, Florence Ratcliff, Margaret Ferrell, Homer Beasler, Berniece Beasler, Hershel Beasler, and Phyllis Eyestone. Survivors include her son, Shane Ruth and wife Deanna of Oklahoma City; (2) grandchildren, Dylan and Caitlyn Ruth; siblings, Louberta Kalka of Chandler, Alfred Beasler and wife Lois of Chandler, twin sister, Marilyn Stancill of Chandler; along with many, many other family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler with Reverend Kevin Martin and Reverend David Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
