Carolyn Becker Obituary

Carolyn Ann (Geer) Becker of Wellston, OK was born on January 31, 1938, in Chanute, KS, the oldest daughter of Frank and Wilma (Carter) Geer. Carolyn peacefully passed away at her home on July 21, 2026, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest son, Charles Lee Becker. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 69 years, Leo (Bud) Becker; her sister, JoAn Lichtenwalter of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Debra Reid (husband Joe) of Chandler, OK; daughter, Kathy Siler of Davenport, OK; daughter, Carol Mobley (husband Kent) of Chandler, OK; daughter, Sue Flake (husband Joe) of Wellston, OK; daughter, Wilma Mobley (husband Roy) of Wellston, OK; son, Mike Becker of OKC, OK; daughter, Marsha Tislow (husband Steve) of Wellston, OK and son, Kevin Becker (wife Carla) of Wellston, OK; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved her entire family with unwavering tenacity. She was the rock that they all clung to in good times and bad.  Her strength and ability to make the best of any situation was amazing.

She was an avid fan of country music and Elvis.  She loved music and was a proud member of her high school band, where she played the clarinet.  With a love of anything outdoors, she spent her youth helping her dad with farm work, and she was not a fan of anything requiring her to be in the house.  She carried this preference to be outside into adulthood.  She accompanied Bud into the hayfield, to check on the cows, and anywhere else he might venture.  Not afraid of hard work, she was a glowing example to her nine children.

Carolyn spent many of the 50-plus years their family business has been in operation completing the associated bookkeeping and paperwork.  She also could be found on the drive pumping gas, checking all the fluids, airing the tires, and wiping down the glass. No task was too menial.  She was by far the best employee Becker's ever had.

She fought to be present with her family to the very end.  Her earthly body had endured the pain and confusion of a horrible disease, but she displayed only determination and grace.  Her physical presence will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of her loving family.
