Howard Thomas "Butch" Brown was born on May 24, 1951, in Drumright, Oklahoma to James and Ruby Brown. He passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 13, 2018, at the age of 66.
After high school, Butch joined the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. Butch married Sandra Harris on December 8, 1972. They made their home in Oklahoma City before relocating to Luther in 1983. Butch worked as a railroad engineer for BNSF for over 33 years retiring in 2009. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his mama, Freeda, and a brother, Mike Brown. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra, of the home, his sons, James (Jennifer) and John (Brenda) both of Luther; sisters, Jane Van Sickle (Norman), Jan Prather, Alice Shoemaker (Donnie), Virginia Wise, Linda Smith (Pat) and Kate Vincent; eleven grandchildren, Dalton (Leemanda), John Jr., Miranda, Zachary, Ashleigh, Samuel Sophie and Luke Brown. Also, Ciarra Johnston (Matt), Madison and Conner Wilde and three great-grandchildren.
At his request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stephenson Cancer Center in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
