Bobby Jack Miller was born to Tommy Jack Miller and Marlena Campbell Miller on July 9, 1969 in Cushing, Oklahoma. Bobby resided in Carney, Oklahoma with his wife Cheryl Miller. He grew up in Carney where he attended Carney School from kindergarten until he graduated his senior year in 1987. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy from March 28, 1988 until October 19, 1995 on the USS NASHVILLE. He served in the Gulf War and Desert Storm. After his honorable discharge he became a volunteer fireman with the Carney Fire Department where he continued his passion for serving his country and community. Bobby was a certified Fire Fighter I and II.
Inspired by what he had learned, he realized he had the ability to inspire others by teaching safety, first aid and CPR as well as other lifesaving skills, as he called it “shaping minds”. Bobby lived life to the fullest. He loved God, his family and his country in that order. He ministered through Bible verses, words and actions. He loved spending time with his family, siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. His greatest achievement was raising 3 of his four children as a single dad. He was a little league coach for 24 years and wanted nothing more than to inspire these young people.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Jack Miller. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Miller of Carney; mother, Marlena Hodson and Mark Hodson of Carney; brother, Alan Miller and Jo Beth Miller of Mead, KS; sister, Kari Gaylord and Bryce Gaylord of Meeker, OK; brother, Kevin Miller and Kayla Miller of Carney, OK; daughter, Taylor Hinds; sons, Trevor Miller, Dillon Miller and Campbell Miller; step-daughters, Kelsey Collum and Mackenzie Moore as well as 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
