Billy V. Miller of Midwest City, Oklahoma, 91, died March 29, 2021 at Emerald Care Facility in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born April 8, 1929 at the family homestead in Lincoln County northwest of Chandler, Oklahoma. He was the son of Merrill A. Miller and Elva L Suggs Miller and the grandson of Frank Vincen Miller and Susan Caroline Mathews Miller. He was a Christian man and was baptized in a Lincoln County creek at an early age.
Billy graduated from Chandler High School with the class of 1947. He was President of the FFA and a bus driver during his senior year of high school. Following graduation he delivered gasoline for Texaco, owned and operated several Texaco full service stations and eventually joined the Teamsters Local Union #886 as a truck driver working for Time and Yellow Freightlines. Billy retired after driving over three million miles without an accident.
Billy married Patricia Lorene Satterfield on August 26, 1951 and they settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, then eventually in Midwest City. Together they celebrated a caring and beautiful marriage of 69 years which has been an inspiration to many.
Billy was a generous man and had the gift of always helping others. When he was in the room you could feel his kindness. He had a sincere passion for cars, boats, country music, and animals; especially dogs. In addition, he enjoyed watching Pawnee Black Bear and University of Oklahoma football, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by an infant twin brother, an infant sister, and a brother, Butch Carroll Miller. Survivors include his wife Patricia, brother-in-law Floyd Douglas Satterfield of Shawnee, OK, sister-in-law Betty Satterfield of Sand Springs, OK, sons Michael Vincen Miller and his wife Reanonda of Midwest City, OK, Bobby Joe Miller and his wife Suzanne of Pawnee, OK, and Gene Ray Miller of Del City, OK.; four grandchildren; Gabriel Miller, Amanda Gonzales (William), Katie Hollrah (Jason) and Kimber Miller.; six great-grandchildren; Max, Cruz, Stella Kate, John, George and Charles along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Lehman Funeral Home followed by a graveside funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, northwest of Chandler.
