Betty Lou (Elam) Staley was born August 17, 1955 in Ponca City to Ray and Opal (Marler) Elam. She passed away September 25, 2020 in Ponca City at the age of 65.
Betty grew up on Ponca City where she graduated from high school with the class of 1973. She played piano and sang at her church, Ranch Drive Baptist west of Ponca City. She was a fantastic fisherman who could out fish many of her family members. They often struggled keeping up with her as she navigated up and down the rivers banks. She enjoyed working with her cattle, going to sell barns, and sitting on her porch drinking coffee while counting her cattle and cats.
Betty was a great mother to her children by blood as well as her children by choice. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Opal Elam; first husband, Danny Joe Biby; siblings, Jim Elam, Barbara Sloan, and Sue Grimm. Survivors include her husband, Mike R. Staley of the home; children, Ray Elam and (Rhonda) of Ponca City, Elizabeth Biby of Florida; Tiffany Biby of Bartlesville, Matt Briggs of Shidler, Wayne Imsdahl and Holly of Missouri, Diane Cienny of Kansas, Billy Imsdahl of Kansas.
