Andrew Sokol, Jr.

Andrew Sokol, Jr. was born February 9, 1941, in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania to Andrew Sr. and Elda (Fortney) Sokol.  He passed away May 15, 2026, in his home in Wellston at the age of 85.

Andrew served his country proudly in the United States Army playing bass horn in their band.  He moved to Oklahoma in 2010 where he raised his granddaughter, Taylor.  He had a great sense of humor.  Andy enjoyed spending time visiting with the old-timers at Bev’s Convenience Store but never considered himself one of them.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents Andrew, Sr. and Elda; sister, Nancy Sokol; and his daughter, Angelique Baker.  Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Callaghan of the home; daughter, Rosalind Sokal of France; granddaughters, Taylor Green (Jesse) of Wellston, Valentine Cousin, and Melanie Cousin both of France; great-granddaughter, Emma Green; other family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 Sunday, May 31st at the First Baptist Church in Wellston.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
