Alison Kay (Benson) Rye

July 18, 1964 ~ December 31, 2023 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Alison Rye Obituary

Surrounded by family, Alison Kay Rye went to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 31, 2023 after being diagnosed with Influenza A. She was 59 years old.

Alison was born July 18, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Benny and Francis Benson. She was the second youngest of twelve brothers and sisters. She attended Harrah High School and graduated in 1982.

She met her husband, Thomas Rye Jr while working at The Country Boy in Harrah. They married in 1984 and had 3 beautiful daughters.

They raised their family in Davenport, Oklahoma where she ran an In-Home daycare for many years before starting her career at the Turnpike Authority in Stroud. She left the company after 17 years and became a truck driver in November 2023. It was in the future for her and her husband to begin Team Driving.

In her free time, Alison was a professional crafter, rock finder and driftwood seeker. She collected these items and made unique crafts out of them. She always had rocks and driftwood hidden in her vehicle from Tom. She thoroughly enjoyed fishing and always tried to out-fish anyone but never would clean her own fish. She loved playing jokes on her sisters and brothers and always made people laugh. She also enjoyed going on adventures with her husband, making him take her to Hobby Lobby and every Buc-ees in Texas. She loved her grand-kids so very much and expressed it with numerous camping trips to find booger-whopper-doozers! She was a beautiful soul that will most definitely be missed.

She leaves behind her husband, Thomas Rye Jr of 39 years. Daughter, Alicia and husband Brian Peck of Arizona. Daughter, Jennifer and husband Derek Martin of Stroud and Daughter Shannon Rye. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Landan Adams, Jackson Peck, Kaden Martin, Cody Beavers, Kali Beavers, Nathaniel St. Martin, Benjamin Peck, Hannah Beavers, Aspen Martin and Cash Williams.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father. Sisters, Wanda and Debbie and her brother David.

A celebration of Alison’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
