Alice Ruth Moore was born April 12, 1948 in Watonga, Oklahoma to Raymond and Ruth (Matthews) Westfahl. She passed away July 13, 2019 in her Tryon home at the age of 71.
Alice grew up in Homestead, Oklahoma through junior high school when she moved to Carney where she graduated from Carney High School with the class of 1966. She worked on her family’s farm raising wheat and played basketball in high school. Alice met and married George Moore in 1967 and they raised two children together. They moved to McKinney, Texas in 1970 until their return to Tryon in 2014. Alice and her husband owned and operated George Moore Construction in McKinney, Texas. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, making dolls, fishing and growing beautiful flowers.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth; son, George Raymond Moore; great-grandson, Clayton Ray Moore. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, George William Moore of the home; daughter, Angela and husband Daniel Houston of Smithville, OK; grandson, Johnny Moore of Mena, AR; (2) great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Dalton Moore all of Mena, AR; along with many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Carney Cemetery officiated by Reverend Mike Mitchell. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
