Wanda Lorraine Hogard

Wanda Lorraine Hogard was born December 1, 1924 in Chandler, Oklahoma and passed away February 4, 2019 at the age of 94.  Wanda was preceeded in death by her parents, Bessie M. Brown and Arthur (C.W.) Brown; sister, Daisy Holdaway; brothers, Harold Brown, L.D. Brown, and Carl Brown; her son, Jack Lucas, who is being laid to rest with her.  Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Kay Lairmore of Bixby, Ok. and Donna May Lucas of Sapulpa, Ok; grandchildren, Tish Patton, Rick Lairmore, Jack Sampson, Gary Clark, Randy Chandler, CherRaine Jones, LorRaine Froese, and many great grandchildren. 

Wanda was in the service industry for many years as a waitress, business owner, and in her later years, an in-home care provider.  She was the rock of her family, always ensuring they had what they needed, even if it meant doing without for herself.  She would have, and most assuredly has, given her last dollar to any one of her family members in need.  She was a very loving and generous sister, mother, and grandmother.  She liked elaborate things, and the caregivers at her nursing home used to speculate on the life she lived as they noticed the remanence of her belongings she had around her in her room.  Wanda passed surrounded by her daughter Kay and granddaughter Tish shortly after Chaplain Micah Thompson prayed with her and shared with her John's account of Heaven from the book of Revelations. 

A graveside memorial service will be held in conjunction with her son’s at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
