Vera Mae Verner was born on October 4, 1953 in Chandler, Oklahoma where she spent the majority of her life. Vera worked as a seamstress during her early years before becoming a manager in the service industry later in life. She finished her career with OnCue in Chandler before retiring in 2012. She passed away peacefully at her home in Chandler on July 11, 2018 at the age of 64.
Vera was preceded in death by her father Harlan Meteer; survivors include her mother Ruth Mae (Rackley) Meteer; her beloved husband of 46 years, James “Brad” Verner; two loving sons Nathan Verner and his wife Sharon; Derek Verner and his wife Courtney; four adored grandchildren Dylan, Allyson, Skyla and Brantley; her older brother Charles Rush; and her younger sister Edna Rogers along with other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Davenport . Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Dylan Verner, Brantley Verner, Jason Rush, Tony Rush and Caleb VanDenbrand. Memorial donations can be in memory of Vera to the Alzheimer’s Association via their website at act.alz.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
