Susan Irene (Packer) Golden

Susan Irene Golden was born April 10, 1945 in Atkin, Minnesota to Hurbert Wilson and Helen Lenora (Cheney) Packer. She passed away October 22, 2019 in Stroud at the age of 74.

Susan grew up in Minnesota before moving to California where she met her husband Billy. They were married August 22, 1964 and shared 47 years together before his death. She loved baking and created home cooked meals for her family every day. She enjoyed elaborate dinners and took great pride in planning them. She taught special education as a Para in Geary Schools for 10 years before her retirement.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband Billy Golden; her son, Troy Golden, sister, Mary Ann Mize; brothers’, Richard Packer and Gordon Packer. Survivors include her son, Steve Golden and his wife Mary Ann of Sparks; (5) grandchildren, Brandon Golden and his wife Kara, Laura and her husband Christian Lopez, Ciera Golden and Jacob, Sienna Golden, Nikki White and David; (7) great-grandchildren;  sister, Judy Eakin and her husband Melvin; daughter-in-law, Darrla Golden; brother-in-law, Mic Mize; along with other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Geary, Oklahoma with interment at a later date at the Fort Sill National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
