Shirley Ralph Danker was born April 6, 1928 in Wellston, Oklahoma to William Fred and Estelle (Davis) Danker. He passed away on July 27, 2017 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 89.

Shirley was born at home in Wellston where he grew up and attended Happy Hills Schools until the 8th grade. He operated heavy equipment for road construction and spent many years working strip mining in Kentucky before he and his wife returned to Wellston. Once they returned he enjoyed farming, fishing at the lake, camping with his grandchildren and his entire family. He took special care of his wife following an aneurysm for many years until her death.

Shirley is preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 50 years, Ruby (Roseberry) Danker; brothers, Fred Danker, Earl Danker, Claude Danker, Hansford Danker, Albert Danker; and sister, Anna May Foster.

Survivors include his children, Donald Danker of Wellston, Wes Danker of Wellston, Shirlene Danker and her husband Tim Chedester of Guthrie; (10) grandchildren; (34) great-grandchildren; (7) great-great grandchildren; brother, Herman Danker and his wife Tressie of Wellston; along with other family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Wellston with interment following in the Rossville Cemetery in Wellston. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
