Russell Gene Taylor

Russell Gene Taylor was born on August 31, 1963 in Chandler, Oklahoma to John Henry and Velma (Armstrong) Taylor.  He was the oldest of two children.  Russell departed this life at the age of 55 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Russell grew up and attended school in Chandler; he graduated from Chandler High School in 1981.  He worked for Fred Jones Ford, Hiland Dairy and at the time of his death he was employed with Harvey Melson as a ranch hand. He started hauling cattle from Chandler to Oklahoma City with his dad the late John Henry when he was probably 16 or 17 years old.  He loved being outdoors; his hobbies were horses and the rodeo.

Survivors include his mother Velma Taylor, his sister Demetra (Michael) Williams, his son R.D. (Misty) Taylor his two grandchildren: Bryson and Brianna Taylor; two nephews Christopher John (Jenny) Taylor, Rodney Taylor (Brandi); one niece Jessica McCaskill; his girlfriend Jennifer Helms; six great nephews Little John, Preston, William, Elijah, Isaiah and Woodrow; one great niece Payton Ann; three Aunts: Carolyn Anderson, Naomi Connor and Virginia Anderson; three Uncles: David Anderson, Louis (Sandra) Taylor and George Hornbeak; two great Aunts: Theola (Delbert) Carter and Bonnie Taylor, several cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following at the Clearview Cemetery in Chandler. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
