Patricia Ann (Wartman) Taylor

Patricia Ann Taylor was born September 18, 1932 in Dodge City, Kansas to Charles and Dorothy (Whinery) Wartman.  She passed away in her home March 17, 2018 at the age of 85.

Pat was an only child who grew up in Manter, Kansas where she graduated high school in 1950. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially baking cinnamon rolls with her grandchildren.  She was a teacher’s assistant, girls scout leader, and long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport where she taught Sunday school, sang and played the piano.  Pat also taught many young people to play the piano.  Pat never met a stranger and often opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay.  She had a green thumb and will be remembered as the “Iris Lady” and most recently the “Hat Lady”.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy.  She is survived by her husband of more than 66 years, Paul Taylor of the home; children, T.J. Taylor and wife Vanda of Junction City, Kansas, A.J. Taylor and wife Cinde of Murphy, North Carolina, Nancy Walters and husband Rocky of Warner Robins, Georgia, Scott Taylor and wife Janet of Davenport; (12) grandchildren, Eston, Chris, Taryn, Owen, Jeremy, Crissy, Andy, Jordan, Olivia, Maranatha, Seth, Gabriella; (20) great-grandchildren, (1) great-great-grandchild, along with many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Davenport with interment following in the Davenport Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
