Mabel Alice Schofield was born on July 11, 1936 in Wellston, Oklahoma to Oliver Edward and Rosa Alice (Saak) Sapp. She passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Edmond at the age of 81.
Mabel was a hardworking, caring, honest and very smart woman. She loved painting, drawing and basically anything creative. She always had a very bright, vibrant personality and she never met a stranger. Together with her husband, Monroe, Mabel ran Schofield’s Plumbing Company and Electrical along with Schofield’s Laundry.
She was a member of the Wellston Senior Center where she spent many years helping to serve fellow seniors. Always full of adventure and spunk, Mabel went skydiving at 68 years of age and later went for an Indy car ride.
Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Monroe Schofield, (4) siblings, Ella Mae, Martha Marie, William Robert and Mary Ellen; survivors include her son, Charles Schofield; daughter, Janet Terneus and her husband Bob; (3) grandchildren, Wesley Schofield, Erica Terneus and Michael Terneus; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Terneus; sister, Mary Ellen Paine; niece, Shirley Jones; nephew, Danny Paine and their families. Mabel will be remembered as a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
