Louise (Lovell) Couch

Mary Louise Couch was born February 7, 1926 in Luther to Ross William and Cecile Marol (Cole) Lovell.  She passed away October 22, 2019 in Luther at the age of 93.

Louise grew up in Luther where she graduated from high school with the class of 1944.  While attending school she played basketball including a winning season with a state championship in 1943.  She enjoyed gardening and was an avid golfer.  She was a member of the Cedar Valley Women’s Golf Team.  Louise ran the Couch Pecan Orchard for many years with her husband.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Gordon Arthur Couch; and sister, Cecil Lucille (Lovell) McAllister.  Survivors include her daughters, Denise and her husband Terrell Johnson of Chelsea, Diane Couch of Luther; (4) grandchildren, Sarah (Keith), Ross (Melissa), Lisa, Cole Johnson (Jill); (4) great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kypton, Lennon, Clayton; along with many other family members and friends. 

A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Luther Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
