John Thomas Wait

John Thomas Wait was born March 13, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away July 25, 2019 at his home in Wellston with his family by his side at the age of 69.

John Thomas Wait was what people call “Jack of all trades”, but not only that he was a journey man of talents and a never ending fountain of love. John was born in Lincoln Nebraska in 1950 to Leo and Ardith Wait. He was the fourth born out of six children. One older brother, Ron two older sisters, Penny and Tina and two younger sisters Nancy and Debbie. Before John graduated high school in Springfield Colorado he had to help raise his younger siblings, play clarinet with the high school band, was on the gymnastic team and was a hunting guide for the local bird hunters. John has built homes, trained and rode race horses, won skeet shooting competitions and had a full-time job that he retired from in 2005.

In between all of that John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Joyce Wait. Fathered three girls and a son Tonya, Michelle, Charity, and TJ. Not excluding his stepchildren Acey, Debbie and Chris. John had 15 grand kids and two great grand kids. He was an amazing man who was humble, loving, responsible and a selfless teacher of life and a lover of life. Making the best of any situation and always pushing to persevere. As of his sudden passing on July 25, 2019 the world feels his loss from friends and family to his cat. We celebrate his life today because that’s what he would want. No more tears only smiles and cheers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
