Jodie Frank Short, Sr. was born October 9, 1935 to James Herman and Vergie Lee (Etharidge-Wilson) Short.  He passed away February 5, 2017 in Chandler at the age of 81.

Jodie served in the Army Reserve and owned a clothing store in Tulsa.  He also owned and operated Short & Sons Construction, Inc. in Oklahoma City for 28 years.  Jodie was proud of his 44 years of sobriety. He helped run the AA Clubhouse, New Life Group in Oklahoma City.  Jodie moved to Wellston in 2005 to raise cattle and fishing and he enjoyed driving his tractor and gator and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Midway Assembly of God Church.

Jodie is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Michael Short and Jodie Short, Jr.  Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Ruth Ann (Cochran) Short, of the home; children, Scott Short and his wife, Sandra of California, Thomas Short and his wife, Viki of Oregon, John Alan and his wife Stephanie of Virginia, Carla and her husband Les Brust , Rusty Seabourn, Shawn Lee Short, Sr, all of Dibble; daughter-in-law, Claudia Short of Edmond; (19) grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Rhett, Walter, Patrick, Devon, Cody, John Alan, Jr., Caroline, Loren, Darianne, Cesar, Jasmine, Shawn Lee, Jr., Gavin, Gabreal, Arienne, Wyite, Kaylee Ann; (3) great-grandchildren, Logan, Gavin, Zepplin; brothers, Jimmie Short and his wife Janet, Johnny Short and his wife, Barbara, all of Bethany, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at the Bethesda Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 with interment following at 2:00 in the Rossville Cemetery in Wellston.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
